Three Australian Immigration Changes In 2023 International Students Should Know

  1. Visa Application Charges
    Starting from July 1st, 2023, visa application charges will increase between 6% and 40% for most visa categories.
  2. Student Visa Work Limitations
    Starting from July 1st, most Student Visa holders will be allowed to work a maximum of 48 hours per fortnight.
  3. Post-Study Work Rights
    Temporary Graduate Visa holders with select degrees can work for an additional 2 years. Eligible foreign students who study, live, and work in regional parts of Australia will also get an additional 1 to 2 years of work rights.
    Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) The income threshold for temporary skilled workers has been raised to $70,000 from $53,900 to attract more skilled workers to Australia.
